SEMINAR HELD ON NEP 2020 IMPLEMENTATION
Guwahati September 19: A daylong seminar on “NEP 2020 Implementation on Higher Education” was organized today by IQAC and NEP Task Force of Beltola College. The program commenced in an auspicious manner with recitation of Saraswati Vandana by some students. Rashmirekha Hazarika, IQAC coordinator of Beltola College welcomed the participants with a brief overview of the topic. Dr. Bhabesh Chandra Goswami, former Vice Chancellor, Cotton University and Dr. Pranab Saikia, Director in-charge, Indira Miri School of Education, Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University explained different aspects of the NEP Strategic Plan pertaining to different stages of higher education and how it will augur for the student community as it envisages to push our standards of education at par with International standards. Dr. Goswami said that Education is a lifelong learning process and we need to promote critical thinking as well as inculcate values and social responsibilities with awareness to new areas of knowledge. Dr. Saikia stressed on studying strength and weakness of every individual student, teacher and the institution as a whole, cash on the strength and take up custom corrective measures to remedy the weaknesses. Dr. Bhagawat Pran Duarah, President Governing Body, Beltola College and a prominent educationist and Dr. Ajit Borkotoky, Principal Beltola College also spoke briefly on the topic. The programme was anchored with élan by assistant IQAC coordinator, Pankaj Kumar Kalita. Dhrijumoni Das, coordinator, NEP Task Force offered the Vote of Thanks. Two books written by Rashmirekha Hazarika, co-ordinator, IQAC and Assistant Professor, Department of History was also inaugurated on the occasion. Representative of few other colleges also joined the seminar.
