13th National Voters' Day Celebration: 25/01/2023
Today, on 25th January, 2023, Wednesday, 13th National Voters' Day is celebrated with the students of Beltola College at the Venue: The Auditorium of Flood and River Erosion Management. Agency of Assam (PREMAA), Assam Water Centre, Basistha, Guwahati. The programme was attended as per letter from the Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup Metropolitan District, Guwahati I/C Election. (Letter No: K(M) EL -05/2003/15 dated 20/01/2023. It is state level function on 13th National Voters' Day, 2023 in which students and the Members of the Electoral Literacy Club from both Beltora College and Karmeshree Hiteshwar Saikia College were invited. Students of Beltola College went under inchargeship of Kamaruj Jaman, Assistant Professor Department of English and Himadree Kumar Sarma, Assistant Professor Department of History. From Beltora College a total number of 45 students including the Electoral Literacy Club Member's attended the programme. A Quiz programme was organised where 13 students and incharges Kamaruj Jaman (two times), Himadree Kr. Sarma got prizes for their correct answers. The programme started at 12:30 pm. Dignitaries gave Valuable speeches on the importance of the National Voter's Day and well as the importance of implementation of the Right to Vote and choosing a correct and right leader for their area and for the Nation. In the meeting Nitin Khare Chief Election Officer, Assam, led the pledge taking ceremony provided by the Election Commission of India and addressed the gathering speaking on the importance of the day. Some active, Election Officers, BLOs, ACS Officers were awarded for their performance. Roopjyoti Nath, the winner of the 2022 National Voters' Day singing competition, was also felicitated. Motivational videos regarding the Day's significance were shown. Transgender (Third Gender) Representative Swati Bidhan Baruah and Actor Kapil Bora spoke on awareness among youth. The programme came to a close at 3:15 pm.
