NAAC sponsored National Seminar Organised by IQAC, Beltola College 10-10-2023
NATIONAL SEMINAR HELD AT BELTOLA COLLEGE
Guwahati, October 10, 2023 : A National Seminar was organized today by the Internal Quality Assurance
Cell Beltola College on the topic ‘Post NAAC Accreditation Scenario in the Higher Education Institution’.
Organized in blended mode, participants from outside the State had attended apart from different
districts of Assam in the seminar sponsored by NAAC that crossed sixty.
The participants and guests were welcomed with Saraswati Vandana by the students. Professor Dr
Pratap Jyoti Handique, Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University and the Chief Guest, Professor Bhagawat
Pran Duarah of Gauhati University, President of Governing Body, Beltola College, Dr. Surya Kumar Saikia,
Associate Professor of Visva Bharati University, Bolpur, Santiniketan, Dr. Sultan Imam Choudhury,
Dimoria College, Dr Debobrot Khanikar, Principal, Sonapur College, Dr Sarat Barkataki, Principal,
Nowgong College (Autonomous), Professor, Dr.Pulin Bora, Nowgong College were felicitated
traditionally.
After Dr. Ajit Borkotoky, Principal of the host institution welcomed all, Professor Duarah, President,
Governing Body of the College delivered the inaugural speech and shed some light about the steps to be
taken during Post Accreditation in Higher Education. The keynote address was delivered by the Chief
Guest, Dr. Handique wherein he insisted on setting up model library with total digitization for fecilitating
easy and remote access of the students. He also emphasized using ICT tools by the teachers in a wide
ranging manner to keep pace with the changing scenario. The authority on the government as well the
institution must work in tandem for maximum benefit of the student community, he added.
Twenty papers were selected for presentation in the Conference. Dr Surya Kumar Saikia Chaired the first
technical session that commenced at 11:15 hours and continued for more than two hours. After the
recess, the second technical session started and continued for about two hours. The Chairperson of the
second technical session was Dr Sarat Borkotoky. Rashmirekha Hazarika, coordinator, IQAC conducted
the inaugural session and second technical session and Dhrijumani Das, Assistant Coordinator, IQAC,
hosted the first technical session.
On conclusion, Vote of thanks was offered by Priyanka Basumatary, Assistant Professor, Department of
English.
